Özet
Digital revolution has turned the information and mass society into network society. Traditional media and its content are influenced, changed, and transformed along with prosumer children, who are a part of network society. In addition to an offline personality, prosumer children have gained a digital personality as well. In modern age, the “new” children consider their “self- ecran” as the new television. The “self- ecran” (self- screen) is their new media, and most importantly, their essential tool for expressing themselves and presenting their digital identity. Prosumer children may produce their content with their semantic digital perception. Regarding the transition process from traditional media to digital technology, the content produced for child audience will be shaped by the opportunities of digital revolution and social and psychological structures. This research aims to reveal the change and transition in child audience and content. This study involves faceto- face interviews and analysis of the participants’ responses. We examined the structure of prosumer children, relationship between traditional and new media, the positive and negative consequences, and the features of the content that will be produced in the future. The production and consumption of prosumer children who are aware of digital literacy contribute to their developmental process and pave the way for them to be reputable and productive in the digital environment. © Peter Lang GmbH Internationaler Verlag der Wissenschaften Berlin 2022.
